Amanda Manley
Amanda is a Southern native with roots that stem back to Alabama, Louisiana and Georgia. Her mission is to empower sons and daughters of the Diaspora to love their authentic selves and she does this visual and performance art. For Amanda, all aspects of life is art, and hair- although used to politicize and divide us-is just as profound and breathtaking as any other celebrated artform. As a holder of Bachelor of Arts Degree (Sociology) from the prestigious, Xavier University of Louisiana she is building a concentration on the Sociology of hair- with editorial works, short films, music and hands on demonstration, in hopes to bring more validity into the topic.
